On Site GIS Specialist

Department: Legal, Compliance & Licensing
Location: Henderson, NV

Role Summary:

As a GIS Specialist, you will work closely with the Licensing & Permitting Department to assist with the maintenance of Rapid Response Monitoring’s proprietary GIS (Geographic Information Systems) database. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for procuring, analyzing, and modifying geographic data within the United States and Canada.

Location:

This position is 100% in-office and reports to our facility on site in Henderson, NV.

Salary Range:

$26.50/hr - $29.50/hr based on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Review existing GIS maps within our proprietary database and accurately perform updates or import new shape files as needed. Research customer accounts and information within our proprietary system.
  • Use prior experience and problem-solving skills to identify appropriate solutions when tagging new locations.
  • Work closely with our Permit Coordinator Team to identify and audit specific geographic areas requiring updated maps, as well as assist with incoming jurisdictional requests.
  • Understand how GIS changes impact our related proprietary permit service and communicate all pertinent changes in advance so our customers and our internal teams may prepare for subsequent effects.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and meet weekly metrics.
  • Ability to maintain practices of top-level confidentiality.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with a minimum of two (2) year Associates degree, preferably in GIS or a related field of study.
  • Approximately 1+ years’ experience utilizing Geographic Information Systems
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to obtain security licenses in all required States
  • Ability to work schedule as assigned, including overtime and/or weekends if required
  • Superior level of attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with Open Street Maps, JOSM or other similar GIS software.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

COVID-19 Requirements:

  • Must be fully vaccinated: 2 does of Pfizer/Moderna or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson, 2 weeks prior or more

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment. Employee may be subject so some lifting up to 10 lbs
