About the Role 

Rapid Response Monitoring seeks a roll-up-your-sleeves IT leader that eats, sleeps, and breathes technical solutions that provide a best-in-class experience to our clients and their customers. This proactive, hands on manager empowers the systems and network teams to support a minimum 99.999% uptime Service Level Agreement. The IT Director will oversee the network, systems, and workforce of our industry leading organization, and will be responsible for developing preventative maintenance plans, planning upgrade projects to support growth, and managing performance metrics to the executive team.  


  • Plan, supervise, and schedule the day-to-day IT operations of 15+ team members in multiple geographic locations 

  • Hire, train, and develop a team of network and system engineers 

  • Manage identification of security vulnerabilities and develop remediation plans 

  • Monitor and report on metrics to meet and exceed contracted 99.999% uptime SLA to mitigate risk of penalties 

  • Maintain a patch management program of physical & virtual servers, hardware, and other network devices 

  • Supervise adherence to Information Security Frameworks 

  • Serve as an escalation on-call contact on a 24x7 basis 

  • Prepare and issue quarterly performance reviews for all assigned personnel 

  • Provide in-house leadership to a team on the design, implementation, and support of key data center technologies 

About You 

  • Expert level network understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, including BFD for BGP to maximize network uptime and reconvergence 

  • Demonstrated Leadership of an IT department operating 24x7x365 with uptime SLAs 

  • Implementation experience with information security frameworks 

  • Experience in Avaya and/or Cisco telecommunications systems and multi-carrier SIP communications network 

  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows servers 

  • Professional certifications including CCNA, MCSE, CCNP 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field 

  • Minimum five years’ hands on experience working in IT Operations 

  • Minimum three years’ experience overseeing IT teams and projects 

  • Additional certifications and demonstrated desire for continued education preferred 

  • Experience with in-house advanced data centers  

  • Experience managing an in-house employed staff of network engineers
